Soldering help.. Please reply if you can!!
I got a new Neo 3 chip. My PS2 is a version 4. I have a few questions for those who have a Neo V3.0 chip.
My chip is supposed to be 8 wires, but it has 9 wires, there are 2 purple wires. Does anyone have any idea what to do with these? Gamegizmo.com didnt even send me instructions, and the site only has Neo 2.2 instructions. And there is no reference to why there is 2 purple wires. Also, i am a little lost on the soldering part. On the first 2 wires it shows to solder to a point but it doesnt even look like anything to solder it to. It points to the side of a small chip as a soldering point. It doesnt even look like there is a spot to solder the wire to. Do i solder it to the board or to the side of the small chip like it shows. I dont know anyone who wil solder it for me, and i dont want to burn my PS2 board. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Sean |

I think the on the two wires one is for the cd brake function. So when you eject the cd its not spinning.

HI,
If your not sure where each wire goes then do what Deano said get one of the chippers on the the playstationmods site to do it for you, believe me it can become a nightmare, i decided to buy a pre-installed NEO chipped PS2 cos there was no way i was gonna take it apart even thought ive chipped plenty of PS1s all models etc etc. Goodluck Dal |

As you're in the USA, search the web under the string PS2 REPAIRS and you'll find plenty of copanies that can do the work professionally for you.
Incdentally it's interesting that you have NEO3. It disappeared off the playstationmods.com site almost as soon as it arrived. Good luck |
