An XLNT person (DL) verified this for me:
Even if you have done the full install, you need to copy the d2music.mpq file (300 meg) off the play cd onto your hard drive. DL noticed this wasn't in the instructions for some patches. So copy that to your game-directory if you are having trouble. Thanks David!
