Read error while trying to CloneCD a couple of games

So if I've understood this well enough, if CDCHeck returns a read error, then it means the original CD has a problem, right?

If so then, how can I fix it? I'm pretty sure that if I put the game CD on the PS2, it will run fine though!

That's an indication that the read error is in a sound file or smovie downstream of the game start. The first port of call is to wash the disk in warm soapy water. If that doesn't resolve the read error, you could simply sand a layer of lacquer off the disk - but your problem will be that you won't necessarily konw if the scratch is from the top (whic is "deadly" because there's little distance betwwen top and data, or the bottom. Also whisking off a layer has its risks of botch-up.

CDCheck will tell you which file/s contain the read error. If it's a sound file, you could try IGNORE read error and hope it's not the end of the world at play time.
