myst 3 exile no cd does not work!!!!!!!!

hey ern....i backed up my copy with clone.........the no-cd on GCW is really a fixed EXE..apply it ..The game will still ask for the cd,but u just use ur back-up...p.s. ur disc drive needs to be A-H for the game to run{programmer f#$&-up. I have CLone CD and an HP9500 that has always worked with ohter programs. I copied it and it does not work, still asks for the CD. What settings did you use?
I also tried the patch but that did not work either. SOMEBODY PLEASE EXACTLY how do you apply the patch AND WHEN?
