Make a working copy of DESPERADOS !

Copy all the files from the Original cd to a TEMP. directory on your hard-disk. Except the hidden LASERLOCK directory.

In the subdirectory GAME ,there is a file named GAME.PAC
That file contains 8 other files, also the important GAME.EXE file

I've used Windows Commander 3.51 to open file GAME.PAC

Overwrite the game.exe file with an no-cd patch (game.exe)

When ready burn the contents of the TEMP. directory to a CD-R
and use the same CD-label as the original CD

Have a lot of fun!

Hi,

same topic, another question:

DDUMP!!!

I've read the whole content of the CD with ddump, it has been done in 10 minutes (TOSHIBA SDM1502). Now I have the image with the cue file. I burned the whole stuff with cdrwin 4.0a.

BUT: The cd isn't readable at all. All files seems to be there, but the files are not working (NO WIN32 EXE ERROR). Therefore the game could not be installed, the filecontent is messed up, the exes non working.

Any idea what is going wrong???

Hi,

I'd tried ddump and cdrwin4.0a also.
It won't work. I got read-errors while installing.

I'll advise you too trie it my way.
It works 100%.

Hi,

sure does it work, but IT IS not the same.

I would like to have a 1:1 copy, it must be possible to copy that dread LASERLOCK with a philipps or Ricoh burner!!

Patching the game is always easier :-)

Hi,

You should give it a try with CloneCD

Read the Original cd with the following settings

Read Subchannel Data Yes
Read Subchannel Audio Yes
Fast Error Skip Yes
- Read Retries 0
- Error Correction Software
Intelligent Bad Sector Scanner Yes

Then burn it !

Good luck!
