Crimson Skies

I copied the files from the CD onto my hard drive to run with out the disc, and now when I load the game it goes to the title screen and then cuts back to Win ME after a short flickering. I have tried each version of the no-cd patches from GetFix, but I have had no luck. Does anyone know why this is occurring or offer some advice?
