HELP needed on RA2 ( cos i am thick at this)

would someone be kind enough to go through a step - by - step guide making a back - up of Red Alert 2. ( because i cant work it out)
i have the cd copy files from GCW, but i cannot get them to work. i dont understand how 2 make a temporary directory etc.
i have made all the files into an archive, but im not sure if they are correct.
i have nero burning rom ( im not sure what version. it came with the pc) and a WPI CDRW - 4424.
would some one be kind enough to explain simply how to copy RA2.
