Extracting the radio stations from "GTA3"???

Hi Guys

I have been trying to extract the radio stations and pedestrian voices from "GTA3" disk so that I can save them as ".wav" files on my PC.

I successfully extracted the pedestrian voices from a ".raw" file, by using a small "MS-DOS" tool I found on the web, but haven't had much luck with extracting/converting the radio station files.

As a last resort I changed the file extension of one of the radio station files from ".vb" to ".raw" and used the same technique that I used on the ".raw" file that contained the pedestrian voices.

This did actually convert the file, but the whole ".wav" had what seemed like an echo. It's quite hard to explain, so I have uploaded a small sample of what it came out like:

(Chatterbox-Clip)

What I would like to know is whether anyone knows how I can convert/decode the files from ".vb" to ".wav" successfully.

I know I could hook up my PS2 to my PC and record them that way or download the radio stations in ".mp3" format, but I just need a small program/utility that can convert these files.

Does anyone know of such a utility/program?

Thanks in advance guys.

No worries, I have managed it now.

If anyone has the "GTA3" disk and is interested in how to do it, I have created a basic walkthrough here:

Enjoy!!
