backitup (25-01-2002 08:02):
SM83: this is the settings you posted to read games
"Set Read Speed to 1x
Select Read SubChannel Data from Data Tracks
Select Read SubChannel Data from Audio Tracks
Select Fast Error Skip
Set Read Retry to at least 5
Set Error correction to None
UnSelect Don't report bad sectors
UnSelect Intelligent Bad Sector Scanner"
YOU NEVER SELECT FAST ERROR SKIP as psx games never have errors on if they did have errors its cause the game must be damage in someway so will never have a true copy you should select ABORT ON READ ERROR
backitup, i followed the instructions sm83 gave me, and the games seem to be working ok. But are you saying because i selected fast error skip, that i have not done a perfect back-up ?? Without trying to play the games the whole way through is there any way to tell if i have done a perfect copy using sm83 instructions? As there is a differance of opinion, who is correct?? I don't want to cause any disputes on here, as you guy's are trying to help me. But which is the correct way???? Anybody?? Thanks again, Oldtimer.
