Does the disk work with import disk?
Make sure your spring is pressing the sensor down, the spring that comes with the Exchange disk is pretty whimpy. I wouldn't say that a back up that works with ######### means that you have a disk that would work with a playstation since the two systems read differently, a Playstation will be picker on what you put in it.
