Thanks for the info charlie, anyways i read your post on nov 3rd. I still have some questions, i looked at the origa site and they have a newer version chip than the one you posted that has bugs. Any luck with that chip? Or is the one you are using the best for me to get? All i really want is to play US original games. Also you said you left in your modchip.com chip in with the origachip, is there anywhere i can find instructions on this? Or would i just leave my modchip in and connect the origachip as instructed? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks for your help! =)

For what you want to do, an OrigaChip v1.11 is fine if you can get hold of it. You'd need to call their Italian distributor (which is linked via the OrigaChip website) to try and get hold of the old chip. If you live in the UK, then Madeira Games can install it for you as they did mine.
Which modchip do you have in your PS2? I doubt you'll get the old modchip.com chip now. How does your existing chip work for booting? The answer will be the clue as to what to do. You'd want to leave that in (if it's like mine) for DVD-R booting. Can you boot DVD-Rs now? Just put in a large TOC JAP original DVD and then swap in a smaller TOC'd DVD-R - if you've got one.
