I've gotten all the games I've cloned with CloneCd to work just fine with the default settings... either you don't have a mod chip or your burner doesn't quite work properly..

ugh... download cdrwin and use that to make an image of your game. then you can apply the patch. IF THERE IS A PATCH OUT FOR A GAME, THERE IS A 90% CHANCE THAT YOU NEED TO USE IT TO PLAY!!! just something to remember in the future.

There are a few games around these days that just will not copy using Clonecd... (what games are you trying to copy???)
Clonecd is a good program but can't copy everything... try CDRwin or Nero instead if a game won't work using cloneCD.... Also, even though originals work fine on your console. copies sometimes need a little extra laser power if your console is getting old and worn, try turning your console upside down. |

If your burner is 100% compatable with clone cd and the game isn't anti mod protected you should not need to patch it. Try reading at 8x and writing at 4x with read sub channel from data and audio checked, check abort on read errors, dont repair sub channel data and close session.

Just to put brace straight - CloneCD is absolutely of no use if the game happens to be anti mod chip protected.
CloneCD will copy this protection perfectly rendering the copy as useless as the original. The only way these can be done is with CDRWin and suitable crack patch applied. |

Ape escape is protected. You can find the protection fix at the patches and trainers. Just apply the patch using the ppf o matic after u made a image with cdrwin and burn it. Should do it.

I don't guarantee this advice always works but I have successfully done this:
1 rename the clonecd IMG to BIN 2 patch the BIN file as per PPF-O-MATIC 3 rename the BIN file back to IMG 4 burn with clonecd |

I just had problems copying lego island 2. Cdrwin copyed it but my console didn't recognize the cd. I found a licence fix for it but the patch wan't the same size. So someone told me to try it with cdclone (copy, no patch) and it works fine. So howcome cdclone can get around the protection off some games?

Because it makes 1:1 copies of the disk paying especial attention to sub-channel data where the protection lies.
