Quick answer yes
backup cdrs are not as good as pressed cds.
The pits and lands on a cdr are not as difined as with a pressed commercial cd.
you need to adjust the laser to help read cdrs properly.
some games work ok but others will struggle.
You should find if you adjust your laser to just over 600 ohms it will work better with backups.
