Dunno whether I can help but I can confirm that "Colony Wars Vengeance" (the PAL version at least) needs no crack - have copied this myself.
As you've tried different PCs, media, etc. I can only suggest that you try cleaning the original disc with isopropyl alcohol (Tape head cleaner) and a soft, dry cloth, remembering to wipe the disc from its centre outwards (and not round and round). Hope this helps.
