best way to do it without codecs.

open script,
Use Keyboard and press Ctrl H
write avi under find what
write wmv under replace with
click on replace all.
convert your video to wmv and it will play, at least wmv on windows environment will not give any problems, tested on my pc, no codecs installed and the video resolution was 720p.
