help with loading spyro3

I just got spyro3 and tried to play the original on my psx but keep getting a message saying "Software terminated ..." Yes, I do have a modchip but I've had it for a couple of years and all of my games still work with no problems at all. This is the only one that I've ever got this message with. Anyone know why I'm getting this and what to do about it?? Thanks in advance for any help!!
