Has anybody got a NTSC psx without any mood chip? Read inside

Hi folks, If found this psx boot cd on the net and I think it works without mod chip for NTSC psx because my cousin made it work but I can't take a look at his psx since he lives really far away from here and I don't think his psx is mooded. So is there anybody with a NTSC psx without any modchip that can test the boot cd, just to kill my curiosity. I will gladly send the file. I know some people might think I'm stupid since this topic was explained a lot of times and it was said that psx doesn't read cdr without mod chip and so on but I got this doubt in my head since my cousin got it working. Thanks to everybody and please try to understand my point of view.

Having read the e-mail saga, all I can say is get your damn cousin onto this forum. E-mail him, or wait for your aunt to visit you and then send him a meesgae to get his face onto this forum and tell us all about it.

There was another forum correspondent who lived in Brazil and his cousin lived in Paraguay. Needless to say it was the cousin in Paraguay who managed all the wonderful tricks and we never heard from hin either!

Sorry Charlie but my cousin has 13 years old and doesn't speak english at all since we learn a crap english in Brazil and after about 15 years old plus he doesn't give a shit about that but I do since I'm interested in psx and almost buying one for. It's not the case that it doesn't work for him, it's the case that if I found a working psx boot cd from the net without mod chip or not, do you get it?

Right - thanks for the explanation (and your English is pretty good). Is there a friend round the corner from you who has a PS on which you can personally see what happens? How about a dealer? if the boot disk works you'll buy a PS or something?

Hi Charlie, thanks. I do have a friend of my brother (About 15/16 years old), Brazilian also but living here in Sweden and it's from him that I took the tomb raider 4 although I didn't have time to talk to him yet, my brother is the one that usually meets him and his psx is PAL I will try anyway as soon as I can. Yes, I will buy a psx for me anyway, it doesn't matter if the boot cd works or not I'll buy it anyway, I actually have the money already but I was thinking in buy a ps2 but I kind of have the exact amount for it and I wanna save some money for the mod chip later on. I thought about a playstation one but I don't feel like buying a ps.one since there's ps2 already and most likely they will stop with ps1 games production and continue just with ps2 plus ps2 has better quality, so I don't know when, but I will buy one of them.

ROTFLMAO, Nook, you dont give up easy do you. LOL. But once again, NO PSX, be it PAL, JAP, or US-NTSC will read a cdr without it being modded so it CANNOT read a cdr boot disc. As BOT-CK said in a earlier post, it is impossible to copy the unique information that sets a original cd apart from a copy. I am not trying to make fun of you! It simply cannot be done!...Anyway good luck in trying.

a cd-r can be read without a mod chip but it won't play the game without the mod chip beacause a playstation will read and play cd-r music cd's
