playing with chip

I've just installed my mod-chip and when I turned it on with a store bought game I get a main screen that give me 2 choices: memory chip or cd player which one would I use to ####t the game thats in there? Is this the normal screen with a mod-chip installed?
thanks

Oooo... you sir, have a game that detects mod-chips! Doesn't it $ux0rz? What you're gonna' hafta do is create a copy of the game, but patch it first!
That happened to me with FF Chronicles, I bought it, and I cannot play the stupid game because it detects my mod-chip, and there isn't a patch out for it yet either...

But, for you, just hope you have a game that www.megagames.com has a patch for, and do it that way, otherwise you can't play.

I'm not a mod, but I know (sorta') what i'm talking about.

this actually sounds like you have installed the the mod-chip wrong as it isn't reading the disc is in the psx.

This is the screen that you would get if you turned on the psx without a game in the console.

I once had this problem when i chipped a psx and i double #####ed my wiring and i found i had crossed two of the connections and correcting this solved the problem.

I would agree with Deano on this one.

##### the connections again and also lookout for any short circuits that may have resulted from the chip installation. It is also possible that you have used an incorrect installation diagram again resulting in wires being soldered to the wrong pads.

Best of luck in resolving this!
