Which DVD burner and how ??? plz help

hi all,
at the moment i now have 20 original ps2 titles and it is now time to get the equipment and back them up as my little offspring is starting to show an interest in them and at what they cost now i would rather not have to replace them.So what do i need ? there is more than 1 DVD format out there but which one does the ps2 use ?? is this the same as the one used for films (i have loads of these also) ?? which burner is the best - Pioneer,HP or Panasonic ?? and at what cost (UK) ?? what proggy do i use ?? will it come with the burner ?? and will i have to patch the game as with the ###ne ?? ..........:*

PLZ PLZ can somebody help .......

Thanx
Ken

You'll have no time for your extreme love now you're into this.

The pundits equip themselves with:

Pioneer DVR A03 to burn DVD copies
Yamaha 2200/3200 or Plextor equivalent for CD copies
PrimoDVD or Nero 5.5.6.4 for making DVD copies
CloneCD v3.2.1.1 for making CD Copies

There's stacks more to advise you if you need it, but that answers your direct questions.

Hey Charlie,
You sound like a truly knowledgeable chap, so let me ask you another simple question. I am looking to pick up the same Pioneer DVDR unit you have. I wanted to know how simple it is to make an exact backup of my current DVD games, or do I have to download the ones that have already been copied. Haven't seen any real discussion so am assuming it must make direct copies (if they are small enough to fit on the DVDR disc that is).
Your help is much appreciated...NEVER MIND!!

Just found your very well done FAQ's on how to use Nero, etc.
Thanks
