well just buy from reputable shops. dunno where you live, but reputable shops are places such as these
SOFTWARE ETC BABBAGES SOFTWARE ELECTRONICS BOUTIQUE FUNCOLAND WAL MART K-MART TARGET :-) You can usually tell just by taking a hard look at it... and make sure it's got the PLAYSTATION logo on it.
