quale consigli tra quelli? perchè tutti qui usano FreeArc invece di uno di quei compressori?

What do you suggest from this list? Why in this forum all conversion use FreeArc and nobody use a better compressor?

Because, so far, FreeArc is the best when comparing Compression and Decompression times.
It's also easy to work with.

At least that's how I see it.

I have tried using KGB compressor just for lols and to compare the differences in Compress/Decompress times and, from my personal experience, it's not worth the time nor he nerves.

I'd rather use FreeArc and Compress my game to fit 3-4 DVDs which will be packed in 30 minutes and installed in 10 minutes rather than waiting over night so that I would have 1DVD that would need 1 hour to unpack.

it's clear. Also , as link posted by steninelks said, FreeArc is the program has better compression/time ratio...and this is important for a conversion.
But in the past people maked conversor with lzma+precomp+srep with an optimal compression/time ratio (for example max payne, rage, hitman absolution) that have a 3-4 hour for compression and 30 minutes to install, a good compromise I think, now I see only conversion with a gain of few gb and only LZMA compression, that have 30 minute for compress and 10 minutes to install. I think the more compression is better for storage in a low number of support, because the compression process is long but is once time process.
