Well... if you have a PSX from the US, it's prolly a NTSC, which means, if you try to play that game on your PSX, the colors will come out messed up. What you do is to patch it... if there is one that is, mostly theres just patches for NTSC to PAL.

PAL is mostly Europe's video frequency(or whatever), it is different from NTSC, which is the USA and Japan's. Trying to play a PAL on a NTSC TV would result in messed up colors. Trying to play a NTSC game on a PAL TV would be the same as well.
