Well, i use my old ps2 (with SMS) for all my living room media needs. Play from usb or network (never got it to work though) and work great for me. Too bad though, no HDMI. I know there are usb dongles that "jailbreak" the ps3 but i never tried one yet as i am content with my ps2 for now but not much homebrew stuff around though.
