I know that this thread is old as dirt, but I needed to post in here my problem.

I have just recently acquired this game, Wizardry 8. I have tried the "no cd-crack" for 1.0. It doesn't work. It says it cracked the file, but it still asks for the stupid cd in the drive. I have tried patching it to 1.2.4, and also the 1.2.4 cd-crack, and it STILL doesn't work! What the hell is wrong with it?! I really, really do not like the type of cracks where I have to "press any key" to crack a file for a game. I much prefer the cracked .exe file.

I have a Dual-Boot Windows XP Pro, and Windows 7 Ultimate (both are 32Bit).

Try it with a copy (burned CD/CD-RW or, preferably, mounted CD image) of the original: the crack may only remove the necessity to insert the original CD into a/the CD driver.
