It works and thank you. I have looked everywhere for this fx. Hi everyone Thanks so much for the zip file. My Grandson loves these games. I bought the Ultimate Collection for him and needed to have it installed on his computer and mine for when he visits <which he does a lot because it was only on my computer for months>. This solved the "don't forget the Disk" problem. I looked all over. And for those who are, like me, running it on Windows 7, use the XP Pack 3 compatibility It runs fine on Win 7. I am delighted.

for some reason it says that im missing the strings.dll; and when i download a strings.dll and put it in the same folder it wont start up at all.

Where did you download strings.dll from; if from some general DLL site then why do you expect it to belong to this particular game?!

For those having difficulties installing, this was very straightforward, replace the .exe with what you find in the rar file. I can only assume people are either stumped on extracting the files (www.winrar.com to solve that problem). Then extract the files to the directory where Zoo Tycoon is installed (if you need help to do this then do some google searches on locating files with your operating system). Finally this is for Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection, you will have problems with anything that is not ZT2: UC

I've been trying to download the file fix for play without cd (I lost it) but the information is that the file will take several hours to load that's not normal because it's a small file. Do you have any idea what's the problem?

Cowsheep, THANK YOU! I have win 7 and I guess I scrached the disc 1 a bit so I couldn´t run the game, because it didn´t recognize the disc even when I started the game directly from the disc. This was a perfect idea to place the zt.exe file and (I am not sure of course but I guess it was you or your friend) to place the "tutorial" to youtube how to find and download this :-)
