trouble with trainers....

well, im having this trouble since im using a trainer for splinter cell conviction... whenever I used a trainer and start a game, the trainer closes'... I don't know why, but it's the same problem with Alpha Protocol's trainers... And i'm troubled, because this problem might be permanent and prevent me from using trainers for the other games... can anyone help me?? ~_~

Buy the legit versions of the games basically. The scene group, whose cracks you're using, pack/protect their releases now with VMProtect. It appears they've opted to use the anti-debugging features offered by this software (and perhaps coded in some custom checks themselves for certain apps). Any code changes in memory or presence of a debugger is likely to crash the game. Some have said the former only plagues XP-based systems, but i'm not sure.

So to get around all this crap, get the game legit. So long as 'they' keep doing this on their fixes, so long as you keep pirating the games and so long as you keep using trainers in the process, then you're bound to keep getting these problems. Let that be info for anyone else whose wondering what's going on with this too.

weird, i debugged their dll no problems, you sure about the anti debug? cos i hooked and did everything with 0 issues whatsoever...

Did you try to debug a game with their fix (Splinter Cell, Alpha Protocol etc)? There have been mixed opinions, but for the most part (including my experience here), it's causing a problem.

Neither. I mean certain 'fixes' may cause problems with what trainers do to the game. If the trainer is exiting then it's probably just a trainer issue. Maybe it's checking for the presence of certain tools which it might view as a threat. Contact the author.

well the day the game came out we had store version and the no-dvd SR version. running the SR version (no-dvd) and using cheatengine or ollydbg causes the game, cheatengine and/or ollydbg to instantly close.

if this is not the case then where did you get your SR no-dvd, the .dll, and what tools/plugs are you using? you 'hooked' means what tippy? this is interesting.

the cheatengine forums state something about a help file or something might be causing probs with certain games in threads like this one:

however i have zero luck attaching ollydbg to the a game with current VMProtect. to be fair my 'cracking' skills aren't my specialty..

hooking.. just me applying my hooks to api's and such.. puting a breakpoint in one of my hooks then allows me to happily debug the rld.dll (curious to see what they did, but from what i saw its quite disappointing.. just 5 main hooks... ).. i was working on the alpha protocol crack..

there was a skidrow.dll included in the skidrow release for Alpha Protocol. this .dll was causing the troubles. let me know if you have similar luck with that .dll as the rld.dll.

replace dbghelp.dll in xp for this one in safe mode, restart and now trainers work pefectly.

in xp dbghelp.dll is outdated and this cause crash.

Can Vmp used in skidrow.dll (Alpha Protocol) now be unpacked with Olly?

@Joe: VMP is an exe protector, they use it so so one can see what they have done. (Like stealing public values.db used in thei AC 2 crack.) At least they think so.

yes using this dll is posible, now my trainers and ce no close using alpha protocol in xp.

but vmp detect int3, popfd and sw breakpoints, can detect olly, you can use panthon, ollyadvanced, ect.. for this.

Thanks, but Olly crashes too, when loading dll. Is this also fixed?
Phantom, StrongOD, Poison, OllyAdvanced, etc, dont help for me.
Current VMP version is 2.05, version below 1.81 are no problem.

you need put dbghelp.dll in system32 in safe mode and restart, after try olly

What OS are you using? I have 32bit Win XP Sp 3.
Where did you get Sabre-G Olly from? Never heard of that one.
