ssx snowboarding for ps2

made a back-up copy but it will not play. ps2 has been modded, all other games work including back-ups. I use G.S.2 to boot play game...without codes..insert game cd ...starts to go, screen turns black. Have tried ejecting and reinserting cd but still no luck, have seen patch on site but I need U.S. ntsc version. any help please!!

use clonecd to make the backup of the game, also the method i use is the swap method with the tray taken apart and doing a manual swap, works fine but the trick is that i have the gameshark 2 v1.3 now i also didn't patch the game this method and gs version doesn;t need the games to be patched at all,
i am currently playing the u.s version of metal gear solid 2 and gran turismo 3 a-spec both boot just fine
