i have just heard on the radio that a new protection for psx games is comming out THIS WEEKEND!!!!! on a latest codemaster release! a football game.
it said something that it has a special code on the cd that if you backup the cd then the game will know and make your team go downhill!!!!!!!
will we be able to patch this to make back-ups???

lol, what a cool way to deal with psx piracy, whoever came up with that idea deserves a medal!

But how is the cd gonna actually 'know' that u r reading it? I mean in the psx a laser runs over the disc like a pc, i mean if the playstation does detect it as a copy then it could well be possible, but it will probably be able to be patched like most of the other protected psx games, we'll just have to wait and see.

It'd be interesting if u could tell us the name of the footy game, just so that when it comes out i could go and buy it and make a backup to see whether their statement was true. I'd honestly just go out and buy the game to see how dramatic the affect actually was.
