I'm trying to burn the MDS file that came with the MDF file (7.67gb), i haven't downloaded a mini image.

I think Alcohol recently changed their MDS format so this could happen if your MDS file is older. The method does work, though. The game launches, but unfortunately, it only appears to work from the drive in which the burning occurred. No word on FADE yet as I haven't tested it out.
