Help: I can not play PSx games on my PS2

I've insert the Resident Evill (Director's Cut) in my new PS2 consoile, the machine reads it as Audi CD.

try inserting cd then power down the console by holding reset ....now power up yhe console with the cd already in by pressing reset and hold reset for 1 second until you see blue light on eject button come on then take your finger off reset button this works for me

nope, it doesn't work , any hints?

is your console PAL
is your game PAL
if your game is usa you will have to patch it to PAL
also i havent come across one yet but apparently not all psx games work on ps2...
so if it boots your other games and not that one it may be one of those that apparently wont work
..........sorry dude.........

My PS2 is US, My game is NTSC and it is simpley doesn't boot, i tried another Game, just the same fu* problem!!

power down the PS2 as as topcat says,then hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and release, if the tray opens then the chip install is CORRECT! you may have a damaged game!

have you tried puting the rr2 ( disc 2 for playstation 1 ) then
1 : turning ps2 off ( red light )
2 :holding the reset button ( as with EA games )
3 :start game
4 :with codes
5 :let the reset go when ask to put game disc in
6 :the tray will then one
7 ut ###ne game in
8 : the tray will shut on its own
9 : press x to start game

Thanx hicky, your method works for my orginal and backup copied of PSx and if I use the GS2 for PS2, i can also, load PS2 backup games by the same way too.

I think that some PSx games doesn't work at all in PS2, is it true?
