I have GS version 1.0 and cant boot EA sports backups. When I try the method the PS2 makes a crashing sound as soon as I release the reset button.

it's easy. place gameshark or Action reply cd1 and close the tray. shut down the ps2. Start up teh ps2 but still hold the reset button ( red light button ). Untill the cd loaded you release the reset button and the tray will open. After 4 sec's the tray closes automaticly. So swap disc in 4 sec sec's. Now the normal way and play the game.

Hey guys, If your talking about playing the ea sports games here in the U.S. you will have to apply the universal Napalm patch into the bin file before you burn your backup onto cd-r media....thats how I get all my EA titles working and you do have to bootup with the GS2 disk by holding down the power button and swaping in the 4 second delay.....If you want the patcher email me and I'll send it to you zipped. I would give you the link to download it; but lets just say sony and EA is busting sites that have had the patcher.........Lates....
check out this link for more info on patcher: http://home.rochester.rr.com/rshomepage/FAQ.txt |

oh ya, I have GS2 ver 1.0 and neo2 and I have no problems booting with that crazy crashing and the cd tray not openning...it sounds like you have a bad connection like tomcat says....... should open her back up again and check all your solder points again.....

Which version of Ps2 do you have? I rechecked everything and it's all right all other backups play fine The only thing I know is I have version 2 PS2 and the place where I bought mine on there instructions for version one and two r different where the red wire goes. Check it out please. www.playstationmodchip.com/install.html look at version 1 and version 2 and the red wire. |

yeah,
I looked at playstationmod.coms diagrams and both wiring instructions for version 1 and 2 are just about the same except for where to place the number eight (ground/black)....if you wired it up just like it is in either diagrams then you shouldn't have any problems especially if your already using normal clonecd backups of your ps2 games.....Even with just the GS2 disk in your tray and holding down the power button from initial power up you get that crazy crashing sound and nothing else happens....???? |
