all newbies,before you waste disc's and your time go to this site and check to see if your game is protected

any games I do which are not protected and I will not patch, I use Nero.

For protected games where a patch is available I use CDRWin.

For protected games where no patch availabe or I'm not sure I use Clone.

Oh, btw bot-ck or what ever your name is, I suppose you were born riding yer bike. Don't be so tough on em. eh!.

libcrypt

FF9 use the new libcrypt 2 protection.
Clone is not able to copy this new protection from sony.
You need patch but they don't work

this one is for BOT-CK,
have you heard about PSX-X-Change CD.
if so maybe you should try one of these and see that you can play back-ups without a chip.
thats what they say.....
oldest PSX dont need a chip,you have to swap the discs several times...
