i think you should save your game at the end of cd1, then shut off your playstation put in cd2, turn your playstation on, load saved game and voila.
this should work. --------========-------- the ability to speak does not make a man intelligent |

This pb has already been dealt a bit earlier. The source of the pb is the chip. U have up to 5 sec. to change the disk 1 to the disk 2, and it will (should) work. Try.

Okay I have a Plug-In mod...
After I load the saved data from disk 1 it asks please insert disk 2, "wrong disk inserted". BUT, the disk is still spinning, so i unlatch the spring real fast, then it just says "please insert disk 2" so i do and then close the lid. It says "reading disk" then it says wrong disk inserted please insert disk 2. I swaped it within 5 secs. im sure of. So what do i do now??? |

could it be time to get a hard wired in mod chip? I guess the plug in one you mention is like a cheat cartridge correct?

Its a little plug-in cartridge that goes into the i/o port on the back of the psx.
Its fine for single disc games. No way am I gonna get a stealth chip or whatever that I have to solder in for just one game. Plus i wouldnt even know where to begin on soldering it. |

Bad news the pb is that Driver 2 has extra boot protection on cd2, easyist way to think about it is when using swap trick u r using an orig game for the boot code, when cd2 is inserted the game looks for part of the boot code on the cd, but of course carn't find it so it rejects the disc. and as u carn't boot the game directly from cd2 this makes swap trick impossiable. only way to play game to the end is with a wire mod.

Maybe I've got the aswer (source : mod-chip.com) :
Playing multi disk Import and Backup Games: There are 2 ways to boot up the second CD-R or import disk: You can save game information from the end of disk one onto your memory card and then boot up disk two from the memory card (recommended way). Or if you don't have a memory card or a game that saves at the end of disk one you will have to do the following: When prompted for the 2nd disk remove Import or Backup disk 1 and insert the demo disk (any black bottom disk will do fine but the demo disk works the best) , decompress the spring for a second and then uncompress the spring so the playstation "thinks" that you opened the door for disk 2, press the start button, allow the demo disk to spin for about 1 second then remove the spinning disk and replace it with the import disk 2 or CD-R disk 2. The second disk will boot up perfectly! If it does not work on the first attempt try again... It will. |

I tried what you said....
But there is no way for me to press start as soon as i put the spring back in, it starts up by itself and wont read. It did not work, nothing will. |
