Far Cry 2 freezes at loading screens

Thx to Grumpy i solved the prob guys! For all that have this problem turn compatibility mode to windows 98/me farcry 2.exe and start the game from this file.
If you have some sound problem during game (sound stuttering like half life 2) go in sounds device manager in the control pannel and low the hardware accelleration bar to minimum (in the advanced option)

Now work great!

p.s. apply the latest patch to game

hey, i have the same problem as lucas!

as ive read it looks like the solution is to change the compatibility, but how would i go about dong that?

any help would be appreiciated.

Right Click the desktop shortcut for Farcry 2, Choose Properties from the menu.
Once the Properties screen opens, choose the Compatability tab.
Tick the Box for the compatability Mode and choose 'Windows 98/Windows Me'.
Then click Apply and Ok.

All done.

ok, well i did every thing except disable my audigy, which nothing worked until i disabled it, now it loads in 15 seconds give or take, BUT NO SOUND!!!
I cannot play it like this or i will go nuts (yes i created an acount in less then a min to post this).

P.S. Thank you for atleast fixing the load thing, i thought i was gonna have to return it!

P.S.S. I have an Creative audigy SB2 WDM

Its still not working. I dont know what else to do. The loading is still going on forever. HELP. I AM NOT RUNNING VISTA (why would i?)
