1)Ok its a CRW2200EZ
COMMENT: Good burner!

2)Read=Read Subchannel Data from Data and Audio Tracks and abort on read error
Image File=Delete after successful write
COMMENT: Correct settings for all PS/PS2 games.

Write=Burn Proff,Dont repair subchannel data and always close last session
COMMENT: I assume you had it set as RAW-DAO write mode. Essential, and you didn't burn faster than 8x

3)Castlevania Symphony of the Night
COMMENT: Sorry - don't know about that game i was wondering if it was one of the usual suspects

4)It wasent an original its a copy and I've copied it before using Clone CD
COMMENT: And I assume the source plays OK

From this distance diagnosis is in any case difficult - but there is a potential clue in the time taken to read the CD-R afterwards. Here are some of the obvious points to look at, most of which probably don't apply but I still need to mention them in no particular order of priority:

a) You haven't used a CD-RW by accident, have you?
b) If you burned too fast (like 12x or 16x) on crap media ....
c) Is there any special protection? CLONYXL would suss this
d) Is the burner on the secondary IDE master? i.e. not suffering from the hard disk
e) Have you cross-checked with anything else, esp. an original?
f) CloneCD isn't cracked or out of demo period, is it?

When a reader/burner takes an hour to read a CD it's either because the drive is prevented from working efficiently (could be a DMA problem - you could try setting DMA ON if Device Manager will allow you) or the media has errors.

There is a downloadable utility called CDCHECK in the software section at ####://www.cdrinfo.com/software/clonecd/index.shtml and this will test the media for you. By the way, the article is interesting.
