I need To know all about Backups and Mod-Chips

where do I start? Well, I want to start backuping my huge collection of PSX games. I recently bought a Mod-Chip for my PS-7501 and my father and I decided it was to un-safe to DeSolder the metal shield (whiech you have to do with this 7-wire chips from Mod-chip.com). I was wondering if anyone knew.... 1-Where can I find how to install the chip in four-wire mode (mod-chip.com never told me) and 2- What are the chances of leaking solder on a vital part

Also what CD-Rs should I buy, what burner software is the BEST to use for this and how should I set the software up?
