I think you'll find they removed the Copy Protection in patch 1.06, at least the 1.06 EU CE patch did!

I haven't heard about removed the protection. I have installed 1.06 East Europe. File "H5_Game.exe" has version 1.0.0.27 and before run it, information appears....

Wrong disc inserted.
Please insert the original "HOMM5" CD/DVD.
