ohh i found out what the problem was...the scsi controller installed by daemon tools was not installed correctly...i had to completely uninstall dt and i manually removed the controller...after antoher reinstallation the wole thing worked out...but it is weird that iso/bin-worked fine...whatever...thx anyway guys and a happy new year

Damon Tools has separate DLL's for mounting different types of disk image. Perhaps, the one responsible for MDS/MDF files was missing/corrupted...
