Trouble with Disneys Magical Racing Tour

I have baccked up the uk version of Disneys Magical Racing Tour twice. Once using Clone CD and once using CDrwin and both work fine until you try to turn left and nothing happens.
The orignal works fine so my controller is ok.
Patch required?

Yes. You need a patch cause the game is protected.

I've applied the patch (using ppf-o-matic), but now the game freezes after getting past the 'language' page - once you've chosen the language you want, the screen says 'loading', then freezes.

Any advice??
