Sounds like you were using cdrwin together with some kind of keygenerator, or a crack (for cdrwin).

There's a nifty copy protection for cdrwin. If you try to unlock this program by using a keygenerator or a stolen serial number, you'll get the message that you are successfully registered. But cdwrin is going to burn trash to your cds (at least to some, not at all !) and your pile of coasters is growing ;o).
Each time a new cdrwin release is coming out, it's internal data base for invalid serialz is up to date.

Go and BUY cdrwin, or just use the demo version which is limited to single-speed.
In case of copying psx-cds it's anyway recommendet to burn them at low speed....

Yep, Gandalf is right.
You unlocked your CDRWIN with an invalid serial number. You can try your luck at another one but you will never know if its correct until you burn a cd...in which case it could be a good copy or yet another coaster.
Registering it is always the surest way...but some of us are just plain broke.
