Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars - NoDVD Crack

Hello All - sorry if this is a bit dumb (and I have read the FAQs and Newbie hints...but can't find what I'm looking for). So;

I have C&C3 Kane Edition. Was wanting to play with no-cd. Downloaded patch 1.05. Downloaded Gamecopyworld no-cd v.1.05 rar. Came to grinding halt as rar contained .DAT file and I wasn't sure what to do with it. Had a look on this forum and Hagar said to replace the C&C installed .DAT file with the new one. Tried that. No dice. Thought I might be trying to replace wrong .DAT file - it's only 7kb in C&C folder. Is that the right one? If not, can anyone give me a hand here?
