Do some cross-testing:
- try different DVD's, burnt with the same/a different drive on a different PC, with this PC and drive; - try the same DVD's and the same drive on another PC; - try the same DVD's with a different drive on a different PC. With the results in your hand, you'll know which component is wrong: - if the DVD's burnt by this drive on any PC are unreadable on any PC and drive but other DVD's are readable on this drive, you should try a better brand (TDK or Verbatim). - if this drive burns unreadable DVD's on any PC, probably the drive is (physically or firmware-wise) bad. - if the drive and the DVD's work fine on another PC, you have a hardware or driver program on that PC. Improvize!
