Okay, this is a little complicated. I don't know what combination of stuff works but... here we go... Hopefully you don't have to spend 6 hrs plus getting it to work...

1: Update SPTD 1.39 (included in latest DT) to 1.40, (Don't know if this even matters as I had it working ONCE before this)

2: Mount the Maxi-image with DT (Daemon Tools) I think you can with Alcohol too but as I said, this is what works for me.

3: Use YASU (latest)

4: Open Alcohol 120%, at the top left hand there is a button to make an image. Many believe this to be a form of loading down the virtual drive. Make the image of the drive with the Maxi-image mounted, any name, just get it to start.

5: almost immediately after step 4, run the game normally.
It might take 2 or 3 tries but it should work. Afterward you can cancel the image by alt-ctrl-delete. It doesn't matter if you let it go though, you can just delete it later.

I hope this works, might take a bit of tweaking, and I find multitasking with Afterlight can cause it to crash after a bit. ( though I haven't played enough to figure it out completely. ) Looks like a good game though. Last UFO I played was Apoc. It was awesome while it lasted.

Why make another image of an image, surely the original is better to make with.

First off. I might be new, but spamming a thread with complaints that are nothing to do with the thread, is utterly annoying. Grow up or have someone delete those comments. (Thats primarily directed at Gabriel)

Bought a copy of the game a few days ago, slight struggle to get it going as my DVD drive decided to die so I tried an image from another PC. I finally managed to get it going by just messing about with procyon,asr,Yasu pr0n.stop and anything I could get my hands on. Random chance got it working for one evening... This morning it was buggered again. (I mean the "insert the original disc instead of a back-up (1000)" error)

Scoured the net for hours to find a solution until I read "fxingworkdamit"'s post....WELL DONE! It worked, took ages to load up but it did work.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The image being made is important, it's a strange thing I've never heard of till now. From what I understand the securom version isn't bypassable yet. Even with the newest version of load securom, it still didn't work for me, but this did. The file copy method is similar in that the virtual drive is loaded down and somehow (damned if I know why) it just lets it go, either because the verification timed out, or magic elves make it this way, I dunno.

The image itself isn't important, but the fact that the image is being made while securom is verifying IS. Hope this helps. I'll be back if not.

Thanks for the help. I tried it several times, but still couldn't get it to work. Am I doomed to have to wait for the no cd crack?
