Hi, Sorry I can't help you with nero, but CDRWin was specifically developed to backup psx games.
There are tutorials on it on almost every psx backup site.

If you really must use nero hopefully someone else will reply.

go to the icon that says choose recorder choose image recorder then go to file and choose burn image it should ask for original cd
copy to hard drive then it will ask to save you choose were you want to save it then it will start to copy another way is to open the wizard that will carry you to the burn image properties.

You can copy unprotected PSX games on-the-fly with nero if you use 1x burn speed. just go to c.d. copy, tick on the fly, tick finalise c.d., tick disk-at-once, set burn speed to 1x and copy.

Hi mate, here ya go...

1) Start Nero and insert the PSX disc into your CD reader (this can be either your cdr/cdrw drive or a normal cd rom drive but cdr/cdrw drive works better). If you get problems then try reading it with the recorder.

2) Choose CD Copy from the menu.

3) On the Image Tab select the drive and the directory where you want to create the .bin image file. It is best if the destination drive has got a more than 50% empty space but this isnt essential it is a lot better if the drive has just been defragmented as well. You need at least 700mb of free space.

4) Uncheck the "on-the-fly" option on the copy options page. Also select here the reader you want to use (this is either your recorder or a normal cd rom drive) set the speed to 1X for the best results.

5) Goto the Read Options Tab and select:
"Read media catlog number and irsc (slower)"
"ignore illegal TOC (table of contents) type"
unreadable data : "continue copying"
Data mode 1 : "force raw reading - write uncorrected"
Data Mode 2 : "force raw reading - write uncorrected"
read audio with subchannel
ignore read errors
jitter correction

6) On the burn tab select 1X write speed

7) Burn!

8)Test and enjoy (hopefully!)

Hope this helps mate....have fun
