nero cant emulate a damned thing, so its not nero (though safedisc did blacklist nero at one time.. unsure if they still do)..

daemon tools is more than just that exe, its drivers and so on... whilst they're on your system and active then you'll have emulator detected....

If anyone's interested Virtual CD 8.0.0.2 works with NWN2 1.02. And seems to be working fine, you'll need 5.80gb of space though. I've played well into act I with the original DVD and installed Virtual CD 8 and played about 3-4hrs with no problems so far and it seems nippier to play too.

3. Physically disconnect your cdrom drives. I did this by disabling my primary and secondary IDE controllers in the BIOS. I knew I could do this because my hard drives are SATA. You can also just unplug the power cable or ribbon cable from your CDROM. I tried the "Disable" in device manager and that didn't work for me. You should only have 1 CDrom (virtual DT) at this step.

Does this mean I need to uninstall the drivers? Will they come back next time I fire up my computer? Will I need to reinstall them again? Or is disable something else?

Thanks for the help.

i really hope you're turning the pc off before you do that...

also nwn 1.02 seemed to relax things, you can even use daemon tools on it from what i read...

You guys think that a no-CD/DVD crack will be posted for each version, as in NWN 1?

I think that "crackers" get a bit lazy, when there are other ways to beat protection (like virtual image, plus anti-blacklist tool).

This game drives me crazy!

I used all options here, all loaders, all maxi-images...

can't get it working.

The only thing I didn't try was disconnecting my IDE drives physically.

So far nothing's been proved fail-proof here... I hope they don't get lazy on this one, I'm really looking forward to those No-DVDs...

Finally! 1.03.840 (latest to date) Working!

I have tried everything posted on MANY forums in getting this to work.

The following is what finally worked:

Poseiden Image (Image #1 on GCW)
DT 4.08HT Emu-Opts ON
DT Still running

What made this work for me? Two things..

I moved my virtual drive from S: to G: (apparently it doesn't like high letter drives.. it gave a 'orig CD not found' type error with drive as S:) and also ran the game immediately after mounting the maxi-image in DT.

So.. the steps:

1: Install DT 4.08
2: DL + unpack Poseiden image
3: Set EMU options to on (ALL of them) in DT
4: Set EMU drives to 1 (prob not mandatory, but what I did)
5: Rename the EMU drive properties to something normal (I named mine SUNY DVD-RW 2.1a .. also prob not mandatory, but what I did)
6: Mount the image in DT
7: Immediately click on the nwn2main_amdxp.exe (might work with the launcher, but did not try it)
8: Play!

Hope this helps someone else, as this thread helped me a ton.
