Has anyone gotten this NOCD patch to work? I've tried it and it still asks for the CD. An interesting note is that the NOCD means to replace a file called game.dll, but after a fresh install from the originals, there is no game.dll that I can find. So, I copy it over anyway with the crack exe, pull out the orig and it still asks for the CD when I run it.

Maybe the crack is only a 'Fixed.exe' and not a proper NoCD meaning you will need a copied backup of the game in the drive as you play.

There was 3 other files except the TNT.nfo!
"UnRAR the archive to your game directory, overwriting any existing files" This is so extreme hard?

Strange this one. The TNT crack is actually a loader for the game.dll file which is the real game.exe just renamed to game.dll and a new game.exe created to load the game.dll, confused?
![]() For some reason my game will not work anymore: Unable to open CAL or CIF tree file "C:\temp\Ciftree\CIFTREE.DAT". Check the path in you .ini file. This is using a NoCD I made myself and also the TNT one? The same install works perfectly fine under Win98, but not XP SP2? Can't see any resolution on the Her Interactive message boards either as it seems some people are having the same problem there too. |

OK, I solved the CAL/CIF error I was having!
It was due to me previously installing this on my C: drive then uninstalling and reinstalling on my D: drive which left a 'game.ini' file from the previous install still in 'My Documents\The Creature of Kapu Cave\'. Deleting that file allowed the game to launch properly! Seems the uninstaller didn't delete all files and the new install picked up the old game.ini and was looking on C: for the CIF file when I'd re-installed it on D:

Yeah, that game.dll confused me, too... so for that game I just kept the CD in the drive....
