This maxi works fine. It's the securom for the game owners that are playing with the disk, that are having problems.

Try using DT 4 without the YASU and use this image "poseden_MAXI_NWN2"
It should work fine then.

Here's how I got it to work

Install Neverwinter nights 2

Update the game using the ingame updater

Run Daemon Tools (I'm using 4.03) - all emulation on

Mount the poseden maxi nwn2 image

Exit/Quit Daemon tools

Launch NWN2

Hopefully this will help someone else...

I tried the various mini/maxi images and only had a little bit of luck with the posiedon version; unfortunately it locked up my PC fairly regularly due to some kind of bug it DT. I finally got things working for my English, North American DVD release, using patch 1.02. Here's how:

1. I made a full image of NWN2 using Blindwrite (I tried Alcohol, but had no luck; perhaps I was using an older version?)

2. Mounted the BT image in DT406 and the latest SPDT. Did NOT enable any kind of emulation, and did NOT use YASU.

3. Game works. Every time, with no lockups or crashes.

YucK, cannot understand why this sucker aint working for you man?

You tried a complete re-install of NWN2? - clean all the shit from temp dirs etc?

Have you tried with DT 4.03? - just a thought.

I will give reinstalling another shot. Then I will post back here with all the steps I did. Will also try an older version of DT. When I install Alcohol120 it said that SPDT was installed with it. This should cover DT aswell?

Edit: It did not work this time around either Any help would be great. The only thing I have noticed is that it takes quite some time to mount the image in DT and A120. Around a min or so I'd say. The same goes for extracting it (although that could be because of the size).

Is it possible to make my own? Or would I be better of trying to get this one working?

Time to give back to the community...

My first post, after the time I wasted on NWN2, I decided to give back to the community.

After sharing the same experience with Yuck...trying everything and nothing working...I was ready to give up. I consider myself a very good methodical troubleshooter and giving up was one of the things I don't do very often, especially when so many others say theirs is working.

Low and behold, I decided to do a total reinstall as a last ditch effort. Luckily it paid off. I have repeated it on 4 machines and all of them work with the exception of one machine not having a good enough video card.

Here is a step by step for those that might still need:

1. If you have tried to make it work, do an uninstall. Do not just delete the directory, but do a full uninstall. You can reach it in the Atari submenu of your start menu. If you do it correctly, it should ask you if you want to keep your save games. I chose "no". ( Do not skip this step, I know it takes a while, but I fiddled with my old install probably well over 4 hours...)

2. Make sure you have DT 4.06HE and SPTD 1.35. You can find links to both of these on http://www.daemon-tools.cc .

3. Physically disconnect your cdrom drives. I did this by disabling my primary and secondary IDE controllers in the BIOS. I knew I could do this because my hard drives are SATA. You can also just unplug the power cable or ribbon cable from your CDROM. I tried the "Disable" in device manager and that didn't work for me. You should only have 1 CDrom (virtual DT) at this step.

4. Do a full install of NWN2. Also now perform update to 1.2.809 or whatever.

5. Now run YASU and make sure it says it hid your DT cdrom. You can find this on http://www.gamecopyworld.com Only run this once!!!

6. Now mount the Posidean Maxi Image with NO emulation options in DT. You can also find this image on http://www.gamecopyworld.com My maxi image wouldn't pull up in Explorer, but the game didn't seem to mind. Once I followed the above steps, it fixed my crashing and "emulator detected" errors and everything ran like a dream.

7. Then run NWN2 from the start menu. Mine fired up on all 4 machines!!!

Good luck and I hope my first post was constructive!

so essentially...

clean install of the game.. dont run it
install dt latest version and latest sptd
physically disconnect any cd / dvd drives.. << probably how you got it working
mount the image
run yasu
run the game..

disable not working for you in device manager is probably chipset dependant too
