But did it actually use that space for game data or did it waste the memorycard space on useless stuff like space-wasting icons and screenshots? I am curious about saves that waste space, not saves that are just big.

I dont see any excuse for ANY game that takes up half a memory card - and to be honest, what extra is there to store for that game which other games store whilst taking a fraction of the size - Hell, even 360 saves don't take that amount of room!

a little off topic but at work today we got tony hawk for the ps3 in on the back it says 256mb is needed to save

Or does it say something like 256mb free needed to play? ............. That or they meant KB and accidnetly typed MB because they are likely used to talking in giga/megabytes instead of kilobytes.
