there is a way to make a working backup of this game

use 5star Game Copy

it'll emulate it for you

but you'll need to run it off a backup dvd

and not off an image

its a way to run a backup of the game and works pretty bloody good.

but i still need a fixed image otherwise i may as well just use the original dvd

afterall since i only own a licence to it the company has to send me out a new disk anyways free of charge too

Being a forums and server admin for a UT/BF2/FEAR based multigaming clan, I can say for sure that ALL mods and admins with more than a few months experience would prefer that everyone follow the rules. This makes everyone's life much eaiser and removes the natural suspicion that surrounds new people.

@Alien Firefox.... the Gamejack idea is a good one. My concern is my 3 yr old... known as Gramma's Revenge. He's payback for when I was a kid. He has destroyed 4 CD's/DVD's already. And these were hidden.

At about 25 cents each I don't mind making a half dozen backup disks, so if Gamejack will run them properly then PERFECT. Granted it's easier to load an image...

With regards to the publishers most are very easy to have replace the disk. They sometimes ask that you pay a small shipping and handling fee, but sometimes they simply replace them without asking at all.

OK here's how to do it

Bf2142 has SafeDisc 4.70.000, so no Mini images or anti blacklisting don't works, until they update.

So...

Make a full image with Alcohol 120%, call it the same as the original disc.
I ticked skip read errors, and advance sector scanning.
When its done, download the latest daemon tools.
Mount the image.
Now in order for it to work, disable all REAL hardware optical drives via device manger (admin tools, or control panel>system) right click and go disable.

now it should work.

This is only to be used if you have Brought Original Game. and are only using it for a no-CD/DVD options, to keep the disc safe from damage.

Use your own disc to create the image, since the image would be 3.4gb.

safedisc 4.70 you can't run mini images only full images.

follow instructions in my post, and it will work.

only downside its a full 3.8gb image.
have to wait until anti-blacklisting programs update to support sd4.70.000 to make mini images work

so you reckon blindwrite v6 can make a complete full 1:1 backup of safedisc v4 ay

i dont see how it only has one write type all protections are differant.

Not 1:1, but an emulated copy, which means Blindwrite/EZ-Play Manager has to stay installed when starting such a copy.

P.S. No matter which burning software you use, for DVD there is only one "write type" anyway; and of course for CD BW6 is capable of all needed write modes. For those semi-idiots who want more control there is Blindwrite 5 + BW5Tweaker

Hey Folks! Finally i did it!!!

Playing BF2142 without DVD! with your own DVD copies
i was using Alcohol 120% to make the images file but it show that it still required CD to play

That was the story begin , i try to use Daemon Tools(Newest version) as Decoy , then i was installed in my computer and open all Emulation menu "But! not mount any images on it!" (and don't create and new Virtual drive too, disable all new Virtual drive ASAP!.)

from the begining...i already have Alcohol 120% mount with my Bf2142 images , suddenly i was try to Start the game again without CD and IT WORK!!!

That game never ask me for that damn stupid CD anymore!!

or else...hope that someone can disarm Safedisc v4 protection and create mini images to your guys soon

You only installe newest version of deamon and start the exe...
then you start Bf2142 original exe without mounting anything only by using deamon in backround and you can play ? thats impossible

actually its possible, provided the image is burned using rmps.. that way the alcohol / daemon driver is still present (and thus able to do the rmps stuff), yet no virtual drives will be made (and rmps emulation being turned on of course, but for daemon 4.06 i think it actually does some stuff 'automatically'...)

sorry for my bad work
i said to mount the images by Alcohol 120% and then install Deamon Tools
you will have C,D as logic drive and F: for Alcohol's Vitrual driver
but when you install Daemon tools . it will build new virtual drive as G,H,bra bra bra...

Just Disable it!! use alcohol virtual drive only!! and Emulation Option by Daemon Tools
If you combine it well , you will can play Battlefield 2142 with ya own Images copies

edit::i already test in 2 more computer and it 100% PASSED!!

The Process goes here...
When SafeDisc v4 try to detect your Virtual drive 's programs. they will see that we have Daemon Tools but no images mouted without scaning Alcohol's Virtual drive
then the protector will unsure that our backup are REAL DVD or not because they scan the drive and found nothing in my com

Hey im a new guy i have been following your guys thread about the battlefield 2142 problem well mini image doesn't work but if you follow the instructions here using Game Jackal you have to have it fully updated to do this.

Fire up regedit, and explore to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jacal\Maplom
Then change the registry value for the 'File Buffer Mode' entry to 0 rather than 511.

Use automatic mode with image mode checked when you creat a game file. and then it truly does work i have wasted 3 days looking for this.

I dont understand why you all want a mini-image?!?
If i am right all of you want to play without the original dvd but play online,
not like with the razor1911 nocdcrack.
So why you dont use the nocd crack ""powerd by EA""
I mean everyone of you got a legal key and so every one of you can
use the ea downloader......the BF2142.exe from the eadownloader
never will ask you for a cd/dvd "COUSE THERE IS NO DVD"!!!!!!
I buy my game at the first day it was out.I registred it by ea,
used the downloader just the first time to install it and get the exe
and i NEVER had to use my dvd to play the game!!
So wtf you need a mini-image for??????

You must own the downloadable version.I dont thougt about this!
With this version its like the bf2 booster packs!
No cd/dvd just the downloadcode.
I thougt with the retail key you can download it too! sry again!
But when a admin or mod say that it is ok, i can upp the exe and post a link where you can download it!
