well some of the data is indeed injected into the exe, as for it working, its debatable, try loading a dll into one of the addresses.. wont work.. you'll get a nice little messagebox, its poorly coded 'shell code' style crack

does the job, maybe for some, maybe not for others, and its hardly 'clean'm, the size of the data added together doesn't really matter, if the game shows 1.15 etc then i guess it is, but simply copying the code from 1.08 to 1.15 is very unlikely to work... so yeh, if you aren't a hacker then you shouldnt make baseless guesses..

as for explaining how it works, some people are probably interested in it.. and actually im surprised it hasnt given off a virus warning for someone...

Oh, I haven't analyzed it at all, today's copy protections are way beyond me... But, yes, the environment variables were pretty weird. Oh well, I don't like such hacks either but end users won't give a damn anyway IF it works...

just read the posts from all users, made after misterxzibit releases the thing with the exe in it.
You will see it works for everybody. For me as well.
There is no negative post.

So why all the critics from you ?
Even if the crack would be a Basic64 language or a handwritten paper or whatever. ;o)
Man it works !! Thats what counts for all the guys here in the forum.
Accept it and enjoy. Leave the criticizes to the politicians...

To round up the thing (cause the readme file is missing in misterxzibits rar file):
Leave the 283 funny files in the _asxdox directory and put the directory together with the titanquest.exe in your titanquest game folder. Thats it.

If you don't like the crack by aSxDOX don't use it. You have you original DVD, right? Else, why don't you crack it and provide a nocd ?

So use your original DVD or stop complaining. aSxDOX crack works great

I have tried this on two seperate workstations.

I get the same error

"memory error, program exit"

I install TQ
Update with patch provided from aSxDOX
Copy file into games directory and cracked .exe
I try load the game and get the same error on both worstations.

What am i doing wrong?

Easy enough (had the same problem though!).
Just copy all the junk files in their proper folder (I think it's "_asx" or something like that) (in your Titan Quest folder). They should already be in their folder in the rar file just copy the "folder" instead of the files! Hope this works!

(If not, just pm me... Had the problem so I understand exactly!)

im criticising it because it could have been better done, some of the other secu cracks are 'clean', this one is messy, and has the potential to fail (its failed for others.. ) simply because of the way it handles the memory

Had the same problem. I only deactivated the win98 compatibility mode (which I activated for well known reasons ^^) in the .exe and now it works fine.
